The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) recently announced the 2026 winners of their annual Arthur Ross Awards.

The ICAA (Institute of Classical Architecture & Art) recently announced the six winners of their annual Arthur Ross Awards. The winning architects and designers exemplify excellence nationwide (and internationally) in work done in the classical tradition.

The winners — Voith & Mactavish Architects, Thierry Goux, Craig & Company, Hoerr Schaudt, the Frick Collection, and Alejandro García Hermida — were honored with a dinner on Monday, May 11 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.

The awards are named after Arthur Ross, a prominent American businessman and philanthropist of the twentieth century known for his contributions to the arts. Read on to learn more about the winners of the 2025 Ross Awards.

Voith & Mactavish Architects

Architecture

Voith & Mactavish Architects (VMA), based in Philadelphia, is led by founding partner Daniela Holt Voith and four partners: John Cluver, Sennah Loftus, Robert Douglass, and Scott O’Barr. The firm is known for innovative education projects—they aim to create spaces in which students learn, live, and play during the formative years that shape their understanding of the world. Daniela Holt Voith and Cameron Mactavish founded Voith & Mactavish Architects LLP in 1988, and the team currently has just over 40 members.

Thierry Goux has led France-based RINCK, a renowned firm that has elevated French craftsmanship and decorative arts, for over 30 years. Interior Design

Chicago-based Craig & Company is an acclaimed architecture and design firm founded in 2018. Joan Craig is the principal, and the practice is the culmination of her lifelong inquiry into the intersection of architecture, interiors and the decorative arts. The firm does both commercial and residential projects.

Hoerr Schaudt

Landscape

Founded in Chicago in 2008 by Douglas Hoerr and the late Peter Schaudt, Hoerr Schaudt is a landscape architecture firm that has more than 80 staff members across offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Richmond. They do residential, commercial, and civic projects with a horticentric design approach, including award-winning private gardens and regenerative public parks.

The Frick Collection

Stewardship

Founded by collector Henry Clay Frick, this New York City museum in a Gilded Age mansion on Fifth Ave. has been open to the public for over 90 years. Its renowned collection is full of masterworks of European painting, sculpture, and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century. Between 2021 and 2025 the museum underwent an extensive renovation/restoration with Selldorf Architects and Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners, updating it for the 21st century and adding new accessibility measures.

Alejandro García Hermida

Education

A professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid's School of Architecture, Alejandro García Hermida is a founder and the executive director of the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, which fosters and promotes the study and preservation of traditional building, architecture, and urbanism throughout the world. His other projects include the Spanish Network of Traditional Building Masters, the Journal of Traditional Building, Architecture, and Urbanism and numerous educational programs, exhibitions, conferences, and workshops.
