The New York-based architecture firm will soon open their third studio location in Palm Beach, Florida, in the former Palm Beach Hotel building.

Award-winning architecture firm Peter Pennoyer Architects has announced the opening of their new office in Palm Beach, Florida. This will mark their third office—the other two are in New York City and Miami.

Since their founding in 1990, Peter Pennoyer Architects has been recognized as a leader in new construction, renovation, and historic preservation for residential, commercial, and institutional commissions across the United States and abroad. They have a 50-person firm of architects, conservators, interior designers, and related professionals, and they designed Moynihan Train Hall's iconic new art deco clock. Their new Palm Beach studio will serve as the center of operations for the firm’s many Palm Beach and South Florida projects.

The office will be located at 237 Sunrise Avenue, in the old Palm Beach Hotel, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Palm Beach, with its rich history of distinctive architecture that draws from classical, traditional, and Art Deco influences, is an obvious fit for a firm that is known for fusing history, creative invention, and the latest technology into timeless traditional designs.

Peter is drawn to the rich architectural heritage of Palm Beach and has enjoyed projecting the best of the historical character of the island with a more contemporary sensibility. “After three decades of working on projects in Palm Beach, we are thrilled to have a solid and growing presence in town,” he said in a statement.

PPA Principal Tim Kelly, who opened the firm’s Miami office in 2010, will lead the new office and is based in Florida full-time. Kelly leads many of the firm’s multi-family and commercial development projects and has worked on numerous houses in Palm Beach and the surrounding areas.
