Remains Lighting

Antique, vintage and custom lighting: chandeliers, sconces, pendants, lanterns, exterior and more.

Remains Lighting has been creating custom lighting solutions and made-to-order UL listed LED, incandescent, and gas fixtures for nearly a quarter century on hundreds of residential, ecclesiastical, educational, and commercial projects.

Founded by David Calligeros in 1996, Remains has evolved from an antique resource for discerning designers, to a widely known and respected maker with uncompromising standards of craftsmanship, quality, and design. Through David Calligeros’ lifelong interest in and study of architecture and design Remains Lighting was born. Exploring construction sites as a college student, Calligeros would pull interesting objects to take home and tinker with. Remains was founded with that same spirit of curiosity and problem solving.

Today, the Remains Lighting team of experienced designers and skilled artisans craft fixtures using the highest quality materials and most sophisticated construction techniques, all with a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

Every lighting piece is designed and manufactured from raw material to finished goods under one roof in their 25,000 square foot, UL-certified, LEED Gold Brooklyn facility. Fixtures are handmade to order by a team of artisans and engineers using sustainable practices and traditional metalworking skills. Remains’ custom work and original designs reflect their unwavering commitment to service and to high-quality, American-made products that are built to last.

Each collection of Remains’ hand-made pieces strikes a balance of modern innovation and timeless beauty, displaying a design sensibility that values authenticity over trend.

Remains showrooms in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles offer consultation and design services to the design community to ensure that every project is executed to perfection.

Along with their original designs and curated pieces, Remains produces lighting collections by iconic Hollywood designer Tony Duquette, New York’s award-winning architects Robert A.M. Stern and Alan Wanzenberg and LA’s Commune Design. Remains also represents collections by Rosie Li Studio and Scofield Lighting.
