Building Tradition Episode 28: The Palladio Awards with Nancy Berry
The annual Palladio Awards celebrate excellence in classical design and craftsmanship. Editor Nancy Berry presides over the Palladio jury; this year included architects, an interior designer, and a professor of architecture. There were 15 winners in eight categories covering residential, commercial, institutional, and ecclesiastical design.
"Over the years we have seen more and more entries. And the work just keeps getting better," exclaimed Berry. "We are seeing stunning projects in the classical vocabulary with interpretive designs. Yes, it is traditional design but with a creative twist." says Berry. "Two examples of how historic renovation marries innovation are a historic boat adaptive use by Gil Schafer, Schafer Buccellato Architects and the stunning transformation of the Michigan Central Station by Quinn Evans."
The 2025 Palladio winning projects will be featured in the July issue of TRADITIONAL BUILDING and posted on traditionalbuilding.com as well as period-homes.com which serve an audience of 500,000.
